Nigeria African Giant, Burna Boy, has Monday won the 2020 BET Award for Best International Act.
The award hosted by American comedian, Amanda Seales was held virtually at Los Angeles, U.S. Monday morning.
The ‘on the low’ crooner got nominated in the same category with Rema.
He emerged the winner beating singers in the likes of Innoss’B (DR Congo), Sho Madjozi (South Africa), Stormzy (United Kingdom), Dave (United Kingdom), Ninho (France) and S.Pri Noir (France).
While accepting his award, Burna Boy called on Africans to return home to make Africa matter.
His words: ”Second time and I appreciate it. I will like to use this opportunity to say that sometime around 1835, there was admission to turn the nation of Africa into a dominated nation. Now is the time to return and go back to the royalty that we were because in order for black lives to matter, Africa must matter.”
The fast rising singer is winning the award for the second time.
He won last year beating Mr Eazi, AKA, Dave, Giggs, Dosseh and Aya Nakaruma.
From the international scenes, Queen Beyoncé got an Humanitarian Award for her long commitment to philanthropy.
