The recent donation of medical equipment to Nigeria to aid the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic by Jack Ma has attracted the commendation of a Nigerian industrialist, Mr. Moses Ayom.who is the Chairman of Cherrywood Conglomerate described Ma’s gesture as an unrivaled humanitarian act which shall never be forgotten.
The Nigerian industrialist who was recently recognized by the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria as an outstanding advocate of China-Nigeria Relations in a statement in Abuja expressed delight at the generosity of Ma and the Chinese Construction Engineering and Construction Company (CCECC).
Ayom who is also the proprietor of Abuja’s leading arts and culture cente , the Heritage Africa village square located beside the famous Jabi Lake also commended the proactive measures by the Federal Government in containing the Covid19 pandemic, just as he urged citizens to adhere strictly to the directives issued by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
According to him, the measures taken by the government have won global acclaim because of the transparency shown in the management of the pandemic; the business magnate and culture entrepreneur therefore urged other public spirited individuals and corporate organizations to support ongoing COVID-19 containment efforts by donating generously. As his own contribution to help contain the spread of the virus, especially in Benue State, Ayom has made available his 5000 square meter Makurdi personal residence beside the CBN branch to the Benue State Government to serve as one of the isolation centers for the period the pandemic would last.
