A federal high court sitting in Kano has restrained the Kano state public complaint and anti-corruption commission from investigating the Emir, Muhammadu Sanusi II.
The presiding judge, Lewis -Allagoa who handed down the order, said
that status quo Is to be maintained in the interim pending the hearing and determination of the originating Motion.
The court also ordered that the respondents be duly served with the order of the Honourable Court made in this suit and other processes through the 1st Respondent.
It would be recalled that the Kano state anti- Corruption and Public Complain Commission has ordered Emir Sanusi to appear before it.
Emir Sanusi had pleaded that the Commission give him another date, before he approached the Federal Court Kano to secure the order.
Emir Sanusi had through his counsel prayed that the court restrains the 1st and 2nd respondent from investigating his affairs and that all parties maintain status quo.
He equally seek that the court give an order of interim injunction that status quo Is to be maintained in the interim pending the hearing and determination of the originating Motion.
The respondents in the suit are; the Kano State public complaints and anti-corruption commission, Muhyi Magni Rimingado, attorney general, Kano State and governor Kano State.
That the matter is adjourned to March 18, 2020 for hearing.
